The entire coast of The Park is marked by a pattern of beautiful coves, inlets and empty small beaches called “calas”. Close to La Joya are many “calas”.
The closest ones are the small beach of Aguamarga, Cala El Plomo and Cala Enmedio -the last one only accessible by on foot. You can reach it in an hour from La Joya, following a signpost track through solitary, mountainous, and beautiful landscapes or from the village of Aguamarga in an easy half-hour walk.
Hiking route: Agua Amarga –Cala Enmedio –Cala El Plomo
There are other coves and beaches also with crystal clear waters that while accessible throughout the year, are best to be visited and enjoyed out of season. Cala San Pedro in Las Negras, and the nice beaches in Rodalquilar, Mónsul and Los Genoveses in San Jose are a must to see.
